Hello Reader,
Chronic stress folds us inward
Currently, the external world (Virgo Season) gently asks us to gather ourselves—to clear the clutter, refine our routines, and return to center after the long, expansive days of summer. To unfold.
The absurdity of our modern rhythm, though, is how easily we mistake this call for discernment for an invitation to self-criticism. We start micro-managing our schedules, over-analyzing our habits, and trying to tidy our inner lives through sheer mental force. We pull our shoulders up, shrink our breath into our upper chests, and attempt to control our way into peace.
That is what chronic overthinking does. It folds us inward, contracting our awareness down to the size of a to-do list.
True Virgo wisdom isn't about perfecting yourself through control. It’s about clearing the static so you can listen to the quiet, innate intelligence of your own body.
This is where energy work shifts from an abstract concept into a very real, tactile relief.
In Japanese, Reiki translates to universal life energy. But in the quiet reality of a treatment, it simply feels like unclenching. The gentle placement of hands acts like a tuning fork (I love using my tuning forks in a session) for a scattered mind—shifting your nervous system out of that cramped, analytical state and giving your entire frame room to expand again. You don't have to work for it, fix anything, or solve a single problem. You just lie down and remember what it feels like to breathe all the way down to your ribs, low back and belly.
And while receiving a session offers a profound opportunity to lay your heavy bags down, learning Reiki for yourself turns that relief into a daily practice.
Connecting with Reiki is, in many ways, the ultimate grounded tool. It isn't about escaping reality or ascending into the clouds; it’s about having an internal reset button in the palms of your own hands. It gives you the quiet capacity to restore your own boundaries, settle your system before a difficult conversation, or clear the noise at 3:00 PM on a noisy Tuesday.
Unfold a little. The doorway is wide open.
Whether your system is craving the deep, receptive grace of an in-person session, or you feel a subtle pull toward learning how to connect with that quiet grounding for yourself, the door is always open.
Space is ready whenever you are.
Reader, before I let you go back to your day, I simply want to say thank you.
Thank you for opening these notes, for giving your attention to these quiet reflections, and for trusting me to share space with you in your inbox. Our world moves so fast, taking a moment to slow down together is something I never take for granted.
If you’d like a practical, beautifully simple way to anchor this grounded sense of gratitude into your week, I wrote a piece a while back called 10,000 Thank You's. It’s about how turning two simple words into a gentle, daily internal mantra can quietly transform how your body and mind experience the world—through open doors, quiet mornings, and even the messy moments in between.
I’d love for you to give it a read and try bringing a few thousand thank-yous into your own rhythm this week. You might be surprised by how quickly the energy around you begins to soften.
